SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

The North Central Missouri YMCA is much more than a fitness center - it's a community. And the YMCA has something for every member of our community and every fitness level: kids, teens, adults, families and seniors. Gather with your friends, make new friends, grow with your family and let us give you great service.

We have the right class to make your workout fun, safe and challenging! Try one of our new classes or sign up for an old favorite. Join your friends and work up a sweat as we get healthy and strong.

If you can't start a class at the beginning of the session, you can join a class at any time once it starts - we will prorate the difference.

Bible Study
Mike White will lead a non denominational Bible Study every Wednesday at Noon till 1:00 pm. in the YMCA conference room.

GET FAMILIAR WITH YOUR FITNESS CENTER

With one of our two free programs for our members! Learn how to use the cardio or strength equipment or both! Call to make an appointment for a Weight Orientation or our Personal Fitness Program. Both are FREE to our members.

Fitness Equipment Orientation - Instruction of equipment, strength training benefits and etiquette are offered. Guidelines on how to create your own program will be given, as well as how to properly use the equipment. Please inquire at the front desk for an appointment. There is no charge for this service.

A weight orientation takes one visit to complete your introduction to the Paramount and Cardio equipment.

The Personal Fitness Program gradually introduces you to a lifetime fitness program. Over a 12 week period, you will learn to use the equipment with one-on-one consultations.

Finally, don’t forget about personal training and lifestyle assessments to help you get the result you want. Call Vicky Burns for information about any of these options: 660-258-2388.

YOUTH

The goal of the YMCA Youth Sports program is to teach kids more than just winning the game. We strive to teach children about values and teamwork. We work to enhance sports skills, as well as self-esteem. We know a child has succeeded in our program when he or she has had a great time and played to his or her best ability. A long standing tradition in our 150 year old organization is to allow every child the experience of playing an equal amount in each game.

Our policy is that no one under the age of 14 is allowed in the Adult fitness center. We do offer many different youth programs (see this page) to keep them active and involved. Our facility has full court basketball for kids to play basketball any day of the week, including Saturday and Sunday. There are ping pong, billiards, air hockey and arcade games to play also. Monday through Friday from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm, children under the age of 14 are allowed on the walking track with a parent/guardian, and classes are offered as taught by Certified Instructors. Our programs promote healthy lifestyles, and positive youth development to build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. Please check with the YMCA regarding youth Strength Training recommendations.

There are many different membership types available, but if you think the whole family won’t use the YMCA you could sign your child up for a youth membership @ $106 per year or $10.25 per month and receive the YMCA member rates on all programs.

YMCA Sports Pledge: I pledge to play the game the best I can, to be a team player,
to respect my opponent, and to improve myself in spirit, mind, and body.
